When carp are feeding in shallow water, subtle realism and the right sink rate matter more than anything. Moore’s Mudskipper is a purpose-built carp fly designed to imitate the small bottom-dwelling morsels carp can’t resist—think nymphs, mud bugs, leeches, and other natural aquatic protein found in silty flats and weedy shallows.

This pattern features a compact, buggy profile with lifelike movement that comes alive with slow strips or short hops along the bottom. It sinks naturally without looking heavy or unnatural, making it an excellent choice for spooky, pressured carp that refuse flashier patterns.

Whether you’re targeting tailing fish on mud flats or cruising carp along the edges of weed beds, Moore’s Mudskipper is a dependable pattern that consistently gets eats when the presentation is right.

A true flats-style carp fly that belongs in every serious carp box.
