Nautilus X Series Fly Reel

This open-frame fly reel is engineered for lightness, strength, drag smoothness, and fast line pick up. The design features strong beams that extend from the center to a wide line guard, providing structural rigidity while keeping weight to a minimum for quick retrieves and confident casting.

Those angled beams also protect the rear spool rim — the area that typically contacts the ground when a rod is leaned against a wall or vehicle — so everyday use won’t compromise function or finish.

The SCF-X drag is a sealed Teflon® and carbon fiber disc system that delivers silky, consistent stopping power. It’s adjusted via a generous drag knob with an enhanced gripping surface and texture, made for reliable operation with wet or cold fingers.

A highly ventilated arch design combined with a dual palming rim increases spool strength by 35%. The spool sides are left exposed for reduced weight and faster line retrieval, while a generous secondary palming rim on the back spool provides added fish control and durability to withstand everyday wear and tear.

The spool is a new take on an ultra-light, award-winning Giga arbor design, delivering one of the lightest spools in its class for quicker pickup and reduced line memory.

Offered in multiple frame configurations to cover everything from light freshwater work to larger freshwater species and light saltwater applications, the reel is compatible with the Giga arbor spool family, including larger-arbor options for heavier lines.
